Time Wasted in Trumpland, Part 1

Donald Trump just says too much stuff to bother making a comment on each, as it happens. So for a while I’m going to try writing a weekly log or list of the more insane comments that emerge and stink up our atmosphere.

  • In spite of warnings from Constitutional lawyers and powerful military leaders, Trump insist he would be “fine” with trying US citizens in military courts, Guantanamo is high on his list of such. Due process is not as protected under military law and that’s one reason the Bush administration didn’t want Islāmic combatants tried on US soil. By the way, if you don’t know what due process is, you will if it’s denied you.
  • Much to John McCain’s disgust Trump is back on the waterboard kick. Plus much worse.
  • Trump spend a couple of days insisting that Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton were the literal founders of ISIS. He later walked that back half a step and then took a three-quarter step forward.
  • One of Trump’s surrogates,  Katrina Pierson, appeared on a news program and insisted that President Obama had invaded Afghanistan. In spite of the news person’s attempts to set her straight she continued calling it Obama’s War.

  • Not to be outdone Rudy Guiliani did the same thing. He must have forgotten which president he was standing with at the smoldering twin tower side on 9/11. Rudy said, “there were no terror attacks on American soil before Obama’s presidency.”
  • A Trump spox said that Trump shouldn’t be bothered by anything he said about Kahn Golden Family since Mr. Kahn was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.
  • The insanity wagon rolled on with Trump further rupturing relationships with American-Muslims by insisting the door be further slammed in the face if immigrants and they be “extremely” vetted before granted a visa. His plan calls for political and religious surveys of all new immigrants in which they would have to agree to learn English and assimilate into American culture. They would also have to say they believed in American ideas, and denounce radical Islam. First of all this smells a lot like the Red Scare era of the 1950s and threatens to ruin many innocent lives. Second, who’s going to pay the enormous cost of such a program that has no hope of success. If a terrorist is going to come into America to blow his ass up, do you think he’s going to admit being a radical Muslim on a mission from God.
  • Trump is down in the polls and it must be the horrible media’s fault.
  • Trump surrogate, Katrina Pierson, is now claiming, despite zero evident, that left-wing reporters have literally “beat” Trump supporters.
  • Trump continues to insist that he’ll only loose Pennsylvania if Hillary cheats.
  • Mark Rubio, who is running for reelection in Florida, still says Trump is a con artist but he is voting for him anyway.
  • Trump’s veteran coalition co-chair, Al baldasaro, has called once more for the death of Hillary Clinton. Except this time instead of being assassinated he thinks she should be placed in front of a firing squad and shot for treason.
