This coming Saturday is shaping up to give the old hometown some action. Beginning at 11 am in the parking lot of Steven’s Hardware the Antique Tractor Club and Steven’s will be holding their annual Bargain Day – Tractor Show – Fish Fry – Petting Zoo – Face Painting – Tractor Rides – Popcorn – and Kiddie Tractor Pull. Bill “The Fish Man” Mann will be doing the fish. The Kiddie Tractor Pull begins at 1 pm.
At 1 pm the Greenfield Historical Society will install a Historical Marker paying tribute to the C.R. Patterson Company. The nation’s first and only African-American automobile manufacturer. The event will be marked with a ceremony and among those present will be Christopher Nelson who authored what I consider to be the definitive history of the Patterson Company.
Sounds to me like there’s something for everybody.
