Couple of evenings ago I was surfing The Blues Foundation’s website and learned that the 2014 Blues Hall of Fame inductees list was released on February 12. On the list was Robert Pete Williams who’s described as being, “intense and inimitable.” I’d never heard of the man but the description tripped my curiosity trigger. A quick YouTube search turned up several videos of Williams working in a junkyard and performing a very basic and raw version of country blues. His style reminded me of Honeyboy Edwards and a number of North Mississippi bluesmen such as R.L. Burnside, who’s also being inducted this year.
