As some of you may know, McClain graduate and architect, Doug Karnes has taken on a three phase project to evaluate the business district of Greenfield. He has worked for several weeks now taking a physical inventory of the various buildings and evaluating their current state of repair. Karnes’ plan is to have the first phase completed and issue his report at a public presentation on the evening of Tuesday, December 10.
The meeting of all interested persons will be held at the Greenfield Historical Society’s Grain and Hay building at the corner of Jefferson and MacArthur Way. An open house will take place from 6-7 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m.
Karnes says he looks, “forward to meeting as many Greenfielders as I can that evening and hearing your ideas and feedback.”
I’ve lately done a lot of reading about various community restoration and preservation programs and the one thing all the successful ones share is a solid plan for the future. That is exactly what Doug is trying to do and your input is a huge asset in forming a plan for Greenfield’s future.
