Few and far between

Several days ago I was driving through a small Southern Ohio town and stopped to fill the tank at what has to be one of the few remaining real service stations in America. A place where a guy actually walks out while wiping his greasy hands on a shop rag, fills your tank, asks if you want your oil checked, and washes your windshield. You can also get a flat fixed, your oil changed, your tires rotated or balanced, new brakes installed, and a host of other services that just can’t be found at today’s self-serve convenience store. Icing on the cake was paying ten cents less a gallon than what the truck stop at the Interstate off ramp was charging.
